Hardware are known as touchable devices that help out with the development of a computer. For this project a device could of be useful to transmit the signal from the personal computer to the TV, so the signal is more clear.
This may work by adding some codes of the TV and the computer to the device and everything people want to see images of the computer in the TV they just turn it on and it starts working by itself.
Also this will work as a mechanism of defense so images from other people's computers don't reflect in your TV because the codes are not compatible , since the connection will be long distance actionable.
I think your idea of connecting TVs and computers through a wireless connection is very great and ambitious idea. Something like this really involves a lot of coding as you stated, as well as the right hardware. Your choice of having a device to transmit the signal from the personal computer to the TV to make the signal clearer is good. The defense mechanism aspect is essential too. Network security is vital now a days so your idea of having different codes that aren't compatible to one another is well thought out.
